Moscow International Performing Arts Center is once again inviting the best young pianists from all over the world to gather together for the Vladimir Krainev Moscow International Piano Competition which opens its gates for the third time in spring 2019 The main aim of our competition is to discover, give visibility and support young gifted musicians who are on their way to become accomplished artists. The special commission will start the live auditions in December 2018 traveling around the world to look out for the most inspiring young pianists. Everyone can follow our jurors in this fascinating trip via regular live broadcasts. After qualifying round that takes place in several countries and touches 8 cities, the 24 brightest young talents will be invited to Moscow. A number of important innovations in 2019 are expecting our contestants, and one of the most important is the appearance of an additional age category: now students of conservatories and music universities up to twenty-two years old can take part in the competition.

Among numerous youth piano contests the Krainev competition occupies a special place with its unique atmosphere of openness and friendliness. We designed the competition in a way to make live our contestants a unique experience, performing on a world class stage and being treated as great artists. The prestigious collaboration with National Philharmonic of Russia and Russian Philharmonic orchestras in the finals and gala concert literally transport our contestants on great stage they have always dreamed of. The judging system is as simple and transparent as possible: all evaluations of jurors are made public, and each participant has the opportunity to meet and receive advice from the exciting personalities who are going to be among the jury members. The jury chooses only one winner in each age group; all other finalists receive the laureate title and do share equal prizes, as we believe that taking part in the competition is only a step on their path to become accomplished musicians and a wonderful, meaningful experience they would love to repeat. Special prizes from the jury and organizers, including scholarships, educational programs, recitals and performances both in Russia and abroad with leading ensembles such us “Moscow Virtuosi” State Chamber Orchestra and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia under Vladimir Spivakov, will give the most worthy young performers a true start in life.

The first two competitions in 2015 and 2017 were greatly received in the musical world bringing the names of outstanding young soloists to a wide audience. Today the competition winners and finalists Daniil Kharitonov, Shio Okui, Alexander Malofeev, Jang Hung Choe, Roman Borisov, Timofey Vladimirov shine at the most important concert venues around the world and collaborate with renowned conductors and orchestras. According to the jury chairman Alexander Romanovsky, the third competition promises many great artistic discoveries and unforgettable experience for all the participants.
