Open preliminary auditions in the framework of III Vladimir Krainev Moscow International Piano Competition will take place at the Gnessin Moscow Secondary Special Music School and Yamaha Artistic Centre from January 26 to 29. There will be sixty six participants (twenty in the junior age group and twenty three in the middle and senior age groups) from the major cities and regionals centres of Russia – Moscow, Rostov, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Tambov, Troitsk (Moscow region), Seversk (Tomsk region), Novokuznetsk (Kemerovo region), Odintsovo (Moscow oblast), Sevastopol (Crimea), and participants from Belarus, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Argentina.
The jury board of the preliminary auditions is represented by the Honorary Academician of the Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna, prize-winner of international competitions, Artistic director of the Krainev Competition Alexander Romanovsky, People’s Artist of Russia, professor of the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, professor and head of the special piano department of Gnessin Music Academy Vladimir Ovchinnikov and winners of international piano competitions Andrey Gugnin and Katia Skanavi.
The preliminary auditions stage will last until February 7. The next auditions will be held at the Royal Music College in London and the International Piano Academy «Incontri col Maestro» in Imola, Italy. As a result of this qualifying round the performers will be selected for the semi-final and the final rounds of the competition. The last stage of this music contest will be held at the Moscow International Performing Arts Centre from March 26 to April 1, 2019.
